Organisational Culture of Emotional Connect

As more members of Generation Z enter the workforce, keeping attrition rates low appears to be a growing concern for HR managers. Recognised for their desire to affect the world, they favour an independent work environment. They prefer organisations that invest in their learning, are genuine, and offer a reasonable work-life balance. Creating a culture of emotional connection within the organisation is one method to keep employees motivated, engaged, and committed in order to reduce employee turnover. Emotional connect refers to the sentiments and attachment that employees have towards their employer. It is the affinity between employees and the organisation that transcends the contractual relationship. The first step in creating an emotionally connected organisation is to connect the organization's constituents to its vision, mission, and purpose.

Building an emotional connection in the workplace can be accomplished by leaders and managers by communicating the organization's mission and vision, setting an example for employees to follow, offering opportunities for employee participation, and recognising and rewarding workers who demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization's mission.
