Empowering Growing Skin: Seema Sihag’s Mission with Teural

Teural, founded by ex-investment banker Seema Sihag, is revolutionizing skincare for kids, tweens, and teens with clean, age-specific products. Inspired by her daughters’ needs, Seema launched Teural to fill a market gap, offering dermatologist-approved solutions for growing skin. With vibrant packaging and a mission to educate parents, Teural is set to redefine self-care for the next generation.

Empowering Growing Skin: Seema Sihag’s Mission with Teural

In an industry that often overlooks its most neglected demographic — young, growing skin — Teural emerges as a pioneering brand, redefining the approach to skincare for this crucial stage of development. At the helm of this innovative startup is Seema Sihag, an entrepreneur with a unique blend of professional experience, personal passion, and an unwavering commitment to empowering kids, tweens, and teens with clean, age-specific skincare.

"Teural is personal," says Seema, whose entrepreneurial journey is as inspiring as the brand she has created. “It’s my inner calling, inspired by my tween and teen daughters, and designed to be inclusive for all.”

From Corporate Spaces to Groundbreaking Innovation

Before diving into entrepreneurship, Seema built an illustrious 17-year career in investment banking at global giants like Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan. Managing multi-billion-dollar portfolios and coordinating complex operations across regions gave her a robust foundation of resilience, leadership, and problem-solving.

“Those years taught me how to thrive under immense pressure,” she recalls. “Throw any challenge at me, and I’ll find a way to deliver.”

Yet, her career in finance was only the prelude to what she calls her “true calling.” Teural was born from a deeply personal need—the desire to provide her daughters, aged 9 and 13, with skincare products designed for their growing skin.

The Spark That Ignited Teural

The idea for Teural came from Seema’s own struggles as a mother. After relocating from London to India, she realized the local skincare market lacked offerings for her daughters’ age groups. Her older daughter had long battled eczema, and finding gentle, effective skincare for her proved challenging.

“I was constantly asking friends to send products from Europe,” Seema explains. “But through birthday parties, sleepovers, and conversations with my daughters and their friends, I realized that this generation was becoming more interested in skincare and beauty—largely influenced by social media.” Unfortunately, the Indian market is flooded with products for either babies or adults, leaving teens and tweens with no suitable options.

This gap in the market spurred Seema to take action. “I wanted to create something that wasn’t just safe but also age-appropriate, fun, and appealing. That’s how Teural—Teen + Mural—was born.”

What Sets Teural Apart?

Teural is distinguished by its focus on age-specific skincare, offering products tailored to two key age groups: 5-12 years and 12-18 years. The brand’s dermatologist- and pediatrician-approved formulations are specifically designed to meet the needs of growing skin.

“Baby products are often too mild for tweens, while adult products can be too harsh for their delicate, developing skin,” Seema explains. “Teural bridges this gap with clean, effective formulations that meet the unique needs of each age group.”

The brand’s vibrant, playful packaging is another differentiator. Designed to resonate with its young audience, the packaging combines fun with functionality, ensuring the products are both appealing and easy to use.

The Challenges of Building a Niche Brand

Launching a brand like Teural in a competitive market came with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was educating parents about the importance of age-specific skincare.

“Trusted brands like Aveeno and Cetaphil are great, but they don’t address the unique needs of tweens and teens,” says Seema. “Parents needed to understand why this age group requires different skincare solutions.”

To tackle this, Teural focused on building trust through transparency. The team collaborated with dermatologists, developed expert-backed content, and emphasized the importance of clean, safe ingredients. “We also worked hard to create products that promote healthy skincare habits from an early age,” Seema adds.

Another challenge was reaching the target audience—teens and tweens—who are highly influenced by social media but rely on their parents for purchases. “We had to find ways to appeal to both groups, balancing fun and efficacy with trust and reliability,” Seema explains.

The Road So Far

Although Teural is still in its infancy, the brand has already begun to make waves. By tapping into a previously overlooked market segment, Seema has positioned Teural as a pioneer in kids’ skincare.

“We’ve talked to so many parents and teens, and their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” she shares. “It reaffirms our belief in our mission and keeps us motivated to keep pushing forward.”

A Vision for the Future

Seema’s vision for Teural is ambitious yet grounded in purpose. Over the next five years, she aims to expand the product line to address diverse skin needs, introduce sustainability initiatives like eco-friendly packaging, and establish a global presence.

“We want Teural to become a trusted household name,” she says. “But more importantly, we want to empower the next generation with safe, effective, and fun skincare solutions.”

Educational initiatives are also on the horizon. “Teaching kids about healthy skincare habits is just as important as creating great products,” Seema emphasizes. “We want to build a community that values and understands the importance of mindful self-care.”

Lessons from the Journey

Reflecting on her entrepreneurial journey, Seema shares a few key lessons for aspiring founders. “The path is never easy, but persistence is key,” she advises. “Stay patient, trust the process, and don’t be afraid to take bold steps.”

Her biggest piece of advice? Follow your passion. “Authenticity and purpose will keep you grounded and motivated through every challenge,” she says.

The Heart of Teural

At its core, Teural is more than just a skincare brand—it’s a labor of love, a testament to a mother’s determination to make a difference, and a beacon of empowerment for young individuals navigating the world of self-care.

As Seema puts it, “Teural is here to help kids feel confident, cared for, and naturally beautiful.”
